I was over my grandmother's house the other day, dropping off her shirt for Easter. I was enjoying one of the many conversations that we always have. She always gives me encouraging words of wisdom. As I sat at my grandmothers's table in her dining room, she said something that hit me like a heavy brick. She said, " Always remember who you are and who you belong to because at the end of the day all you have is your character". When I heard her say that, it stuck with me and caused me to think about my character.
"Character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual."
I started thinking about myself as a person, and thinking about my character. Have I really been displaying someone who has a positive character. I can reflect on the many times where I know I could've handle situations another way because at the end of the day, the only thing I have is my character. In order to build character in our lives we go through certain things. People can say things about you good or bad but who you are as a person is the thing that's most important.
